99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 183.001 (1), Natural Resources Code to
1111 read as follows:
1212 Sec. 183.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:
1313 (1) "Conservation easement" means a nonpossessory
1414 interest of a holder in real property that imposes limitations or
1515 affirmative obligations designed to:
1616 (A) retain or protect natural, scenic, or
1717 open-space values of real property or assure its availability for
1818 agricultural, forest, recreational, or open-space use;
1919 (B) protect natural resources;
2020 (C) maintain or enhance air or water quality;
2121 [or]
2222 (D) preserve the historical, architectural,
2323 archeological, or cultural aspects of real property[.]; or
2424 (E) protect living things from excessive
2525 artificial light
2626 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
