10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 183.001 (1), Natural Resources Code to | |

12 | 12 | Sec. 183.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter: | |
13 | 13 | (1) "Conservation easement" means a nonpossessory | |
14 | 14 | interest of a holder in real property that imposes limitations or | |
15 | 15 | affirmative obligations designed to: | |
16 | 16 | (A) retain or protect natural, scenic, or | |
17 | 17 | open-space values of real property or assure its availability for | |
18 | 18 | agricultural, forest, recreational, or open-space use; | |
19 | 19 | (B) protect natural resources; | |
20 | 20 | (C) maintain or enhance air or water quality; | |
21 | 21 | [or] | |
22 | 22 | (D) preserve the historical, architectural, | |
23 | 23 | archeological, or cultural aspects of real property[.]; or | |
24 | 24 | (E) protect living things from excessive | |
25 | 25 | artificial light | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
