88 AN ACT
99 relating to funding mechanisms to support the siting, development,
1010 construction, and deployment of advanced nuclear and innovative
1111 energy technologies in this state.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Subtitle F, Title 4, Government Code, is amended
1414 by adding Chapter 483 to read as follows:
1515 CHAPTER 483. Texas Advanced Nuclear and Innovative Energy
1616 Technologies Act
1717 SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1818 Sec. 483.001. DEFININTIONS. In this chapter:
1919 (1) "Advanced nuclear reactor" means a range of proven
2020 and innovative nuclear reactor technologies.
2121 (2) "Advanced nuclear reactor fuel" means fuel for use
2222 in an advanced nuclear reactor or a research and test reactor.
2323 (3) "Commission" means the Public Utility Commission
2424 of Texas.
2525 (4) "Office" means the Texas Advanced Nuclear and
2626 Innovative Energy Technologies Office.

2828 TECHNOLOGIES OFFICE
2929 Sec. 483.101. (a) The Texas Advanced Nuclear and
3030 Innovative Energy Technologies Office is an office within the
3131 office of the Governor.
3232 (b) The purpose of the office is to support the development
3333 and deployment of advanced nuclear and innovative energy
3434 technologies in this state.

3636 TECHNOLOGIES FUND
3737 Sec. 483.201. (a) The Texas Advanced Nuclear and
3838 Innovative Energy Technologies Fund is created as a dedicated
3939 account within the general revenue fund administered by the office
4040 and used for the purposes authorized by this chapter. The fund
4141 consists of:
4242 (1) gifts, grants, or donations to the fund; and
4343 (2) money from any other source designated by the
4444 legislature.
4545 (b) The office shall provide the commission with
4646 information regarding grant recipients and funded projects. The
4747 commission shall plan for the use of advanced nuclear reactors in
4848 this state.
4949 Sec. 483.202. TIER 1 PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. (a)
5050 Using money in the fund established in section 483.201, the office
5151 may reimburse qualifying expenses associated with the early
5252 development and siting activities of an advanced nuclear project in
5353 this state.
5454 Sec. 483.203. TIER 2 PROJECT CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM. (a)
5555 Using money in the fund established in section 483.201, the office
5656 may reimburse qualifying expenses associated with the construction
5757 of an advanced nuclear reactor project in this state
5858 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
