| 8 | 8 | | relating to the release of a conservation easement burdening the |

| 9 | 9 | | Nueces County historic courthouse property. |

| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. (a) The conservation easement created in favor |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of the state in the Nueces County historic courthouse property, as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | required by the Texas Historical Commission under Section 442.0083, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Government Code, as a condition of providing money to Nueces County |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for a historic courthouse project, and any covenants in favor of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | state required by the commission under that section in connection |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with the provision of that money, are released by the state. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) Not later than the 60th day after the effective date of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | this Act, the Texas Historical Commission shall: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) execute an instrument reflecting the release of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the conservation easement and any related covenants under |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Subsection (a) of this section; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) file the instrument in the deed records of Nueces |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | County. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
