11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 11.22(a), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
---|
13 | 13 | | follows: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (a) A disabled veteran is entitled to an exemption from |
---|
15 | 15 | | taxation of the following applicable [a] portion of the assessed |
---|
16 | 16 | | value of a property the veteran owns and designates as provided by |
---|
17 | 17 | | Subsection (f) [in accordance with the following schedule]: |
---|
18 | 18 | | (1) $30,000 for a veteran having a disability rating |
---|
19 | 19 | | of at least 10 percent but less than 30 percent; |
---|
20 | 20 | | (2) $40,000 for a veteran having a disability rating |
---|
21 | 21 | | of at least 30 percent but less than 50 percent; |
---|
22 | 22 | | (3) $50,000 for a veteran having a disability rating |
---|
23 | 23 | | of at least 50 percent but less than 70 percent; or |
---|
24 | 24 | | (4) $100,000 for a veteran having a disability rating |
---|
25 | 25 | | of 70 percent or more. |
