| 10 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 402, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 15 | | amended by adding Section 402.0385 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 16 | | Sec. 402.0385. ELECTION INTEGRITY DIVISION. (a) The |
|---|
| 14 | 17 | | office of the attorney general shall establish an election |
|---|
| 15 | 18 | | integrity division. |
|---|
| 16 | 19 | | (b) The election integrity division shall, using available |
|---|
| 17 | 20 | | funds or any funds appropriated to the division and in support of |
|---|
| 18 | 21 | | the appropriate county or district attorney, investigate reports of |
|---|
| 19 | 22 | | election fraud or that a person has committed an offense under the |
|---|
| 20 | 23 | | Election Code. |
|---|
| 21 | 24 | | (c) As requested by the division, a state law enforcement |
|---|
| 22 | 25 | | agency shall assist the election integrity division in an |
|---|
| 23 | 26 | | investigation conducted under this section. |
|---|
| 24 | 27 | | (d) For an investigation conducted by the division, the |
|---|
| 25 | 28 | | division may issue an administrative subpoena to a political |
|---|
| 26 | 29 | | subdivision of this state compelling: |
|---|
| 27 | 30 | | (1) the production of information or documents; or |
|---|
| 28 | 31 | | (2) the attendance and testimony of a witness. |
|---|
| 29 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
