610 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
711 AN ACT
812 relating to making a donation to the operation game thief fund when
913 applying for a hunting or fishing license.
1014 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1115 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 12, Parks and Wildlife
1216 Code, is amended by adding Section 12.207 to read as follows:
1317 Sec. 12.207. DONATION TO FUND BY HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE
1418 APPLICANT. (a) An applicant for a hunting or fishing license of
1519 any type under this code, including a combination hunting and
1620 fishing license, may make a donation of $1, $5, $10, or $20 to the
1721 operation game thief fund when applying for the license.
1822 (b) The department shall:
1923 (1) include space on the first page of each
2024 application for a hunting or fishing license that allows an
2125 applicant to indicate that the applicant is donating $1, $5, $10, or
2226 $20 to the operation game thief fund; and
2327 (2) provide an opportunity for an applicant for a
2428 hunting or fishing license to donate $1, $5, $10, or $20 to the
2529 operation game thief fund through the department's Internet
2630 website.
2731 (c) The department shall deposit a donation made under this
2832 section in the operation game thief fund not later than the 14th day
2933 of each month. Before depositing the money, the department may
3034 deduct money equal to the amount of reasonable expenses for
31- developing and administering this section, not to exceed three
32- percent of the amount deposited.
