11 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 41.0052, Election Code, is amended by |

12 | 15 | | adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: |

13 | 16 | | (a-3) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), a municipality on the |

14 | 17 | | Texas-Mexico border with a population of more than 85,000 that |

15 | 18 | | hosts the annual Texas Citrus Fiesta and holds its general election |

16 | 19 | | for officers on a date other than the November uniform election date |

17 | 20 | | may change the date on which it holds its general election for |

18 | 21 | | officers to the November uniform election date. A municipality |

19 | 22 | | described by this subsection that changes the date of its election |

20 | 23 | | under this subsection may not change the date on which it holds its |
