| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 12.50(b), Penal Code, is amended to read | |
| 14 | 14 | as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (b) The increase in punishment authorized by this section | |
| 16 | 16 | applies only to an offense under: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) Section 20.05; | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) Section 20.06; | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) Section 20.07; | |
| 20 | 20 | (4) Section 22.01; | |
| 21 | 21 | (5) Section 22.04; | |
| 22 | 22 | (6) [(5)] Section 28.02; | |
| 23 | 23 | (7) [(6)] Section 29.02; | |
| 24 | 24 | (8) [(7)] Section 30.02; | |
| 25 | 25 | (9) [(8)] Section 30.03; | |
| 26 | 26 | (10) [(9)] Section 30.04; | |
| 27 | 27 | (11) [(10)] Section 30.05; and | |

| 29 | 29 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 30 | 30 | to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 31 | 31 | An offense committed before the effective date of this Act is | |
| 32 | 32 | governed by the law in effect on the date the offense was committed, | |
| 33 | 33 | and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For | |
| 34 | 34 | purposes of this section, an offense was committed before the | |
| 35 | 35 | effective date of this Act if any element of the offense occurred | |
| 36 | 36 | before that date. | |
| 37 | 37 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
