| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 312.016, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (d) This state shall observe daylight saving time | |
| 14 | 14 | year-round. This subsection applies to both the portion of this | |
| 15 | 15 | state using central standard time as the official standard time and | |
| 16 | 16 | the portion of this state using mountain standard time as the | |
| 17 | 17 | official standard time. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. If a court finds that the State of Texas is not | |
| 19 | 19 | authorized by federal law to implement Section 312.016(d), | |
| 20 | 20 | Government Code, as added by this Act, Section 312.016(d), | |
| 21 | 21 | Government Code, as added by this Act, has full force and effect on | |
| 22 | 22 | the date the United States Congress enacts legislation that becomes | |
| 23 | 23 | law that authorizes the State of Texas to observe daylight saving | |
| 24 | 24 | time year-round. | |
| 25 | 25 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
