11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 264.7541(c), Family Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (c) Once a child is placed with a relative or other | |
15 | 15 | designated caregiver, the department shall inform the caregiver in | |
16 | 16 | writing of: | |
17 | 17 | (1) the option to become verified by a licensed | |
18 | 18 | child-placing agency to operate an agency foster home, if | |
19 | 19 | applicable, and the process for becoming an agency foster home; | |
20 | 20 | (2) the difference between an unverified relative or | |
21 | 21 | other designated caregiver and an agency foster home, including the | |
22 | 22 | amount of additional financial assistance the relative or other | |
23 | 23 | designated caregiver would receive after becoming an agency foster | |
24 | 24 | home; | |
25 | 25 | (3) the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) | |
26 | 26 | program including: | |
27 | 27 | (A) the qualifications for the program; | |
28 | 28 | (B) the process for applying for benefits under | |
29 | 29 | the program; and | |
30 | 30 | (C) the amount of financial benefits under the | |
31 | 31 | program; | |
32 | 32 | (4) the availability of any financial assistance | |
33 | 33 | available under this subchapter; | |
34 | 34 | (5) [and | |
35 | 35 | [(2)] the permanency care assistance program under | |
36 | 36 | Subchapter K; and | |
37 | 37 | (6) any other financial benefit available to a | |
38 | 38 | relative or other designated caregiver. | |
39 | 39 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
