13 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
14 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 20.05, Business & Commerce Code, is | |
15 | 13 | amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: | |
16 | 14 | (c-1) A consumer reporting agency that prepares a consumer | |
17 | 15 | report using information obtained from another consumer reporting | |
18 | 16 | agency or a third party shall ensure that the information obtained | |
19 | 17 | is compiled and furnished by the agency in a consumer report in a | |
20 | 18 | manner that complies with this section. | |
21 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
22 | 20 | to a consumer report furnished on or after the effective date of | |
23 | 21 | this Act. | |
24 | 22 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | |
