| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | |
| 13 | 13 | is amended by adding Section 504.5112 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 504.5112. LICENSED PEACE OFFICERS. (a) In this | |
| 15 | 15 | section, "licensed peace officer" means a person who is an active | |
| 16 | 16 | licensed peace officer under Chapter 1701, Occupations Code. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The department shall issue specialty license plates for | |
| 18 | 18 | licensed peace officers. The license plates must include the words | |
| 19 | 19 | "Licensed Peace Officer" and have the same design as a license plate | |
| 20 | 20 | issued under Section 504.5111. | |
| 21 | 21 | (c) There is no fee for the issuance of the license plates. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
