| 11 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Section 1305.253(b), Occupations Code, is |

| 13 | 16 | | amended to read as follows: |

| 14 | 17 | | (b) The proceedings relating to a license denial and |
|---|
| 15 | 18 | | disciplinary action by the department under this chapter are |
|---|
| 16 | 19 | | governed by Chapter 2001, Government Code. [A hearing under this |
|---|
| 17 | 20 | | chapter may be conducted by a hearings officer designated by the |
|---|
| 18 | 21 | | commission.] |

| 19 | 22 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 20 | 23 | | to a hearing that commences on or after the effective date of this |
|---|
| 21 | 24 | | Act. A hearing that commences before the effective date of this Act |
|---|
| 22 | 25 | | is governed by the law in effect on the date the hearing commenced, |
|---|
| 23 | 26 | | and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|---|
| 24 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
