88 AN ACT
99 relating to requiring the Department of Family and Protective
1010 Services to annually review the department's process to enter into
1111 adoption assistance agreements.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 162.304, Family Code, is amended by
1414 adding Subsection (k) to read as follows:
1515 (k) The department shall annually review the process the
1616 department uses to enter into adoption assistance agreements under
1717 this section. As part of its review, the department shall consider:
1818 (1) the amount of money the department has available
1919 for adoption assistance agreements;
2020 (2) the maximum amount the department is authorized to
2121 pay as a subsidy under this section and the factors the department
2222 considers in determining that amount; and
2323 (3) the factors the department considers in
2424 determining a child's eligibility for a subsidy under this section.
2525 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
