77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the subject matter jurisdiction of the criminal trial
1010 courts of this state over certain criminal actions.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 571.171, Government Code, is amended by
1313 adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
1414 (d) This section does not require the exhaustion of civil,
1515 including administrative, remedies as a prerequisite to the vesting
1616 in a trial court of subject matter jurisdiction over a criminal
1717 action for which the trial court would otherwise have jurisdiction
1818 under other law.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act applies to a criminal action commenced
2020 before, on, or after the effective date of this Act.
2121 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
