11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 571.171, Government Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (d) This section does not require the exhaustion of civil, | |
15 | 15 | including administrative, remedies as a prerequisite to the vesting | |
16 | 16 | in a trial court of subject matter jurisdiction over a criminal | |
17 | 17 | action for which the trial court would otherwise have jurisdiction | |
18 | 18 | under other law. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act applies to a criminal action commenced | |
20 | 20 | before, on, or after the effective date of this Act. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
