117 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
128 AN ACT
139 relating to the licensing and regulation of the practice of
1410 podiatry.
1511 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1612 SECTION 1. Section 202.259, Occupations Code, is amended to
1713 read as follows:
1814 Sec. 202.259. RESIDENCY [TEMPORARY] LICENSE. (a) The
1915 commission by rule may adopt a procedure for the issuance of a
2016 residency [temporary] license to an applicant [other than an
2117 applicant for a provisional license under Section 202.260].
2218 (b) Rules adopted under this section must establish:
2319 (1) the criteria for issuance of a residency
2420 [temporary] license; and
2521 (2) a maximum period during which a residency
2622 [temporary] license is valid.
2723 SECTION 2. The following provisions of the Occupations Code
2824 are repealed:
2925 (1) Section 202.061; and
3026 (2) Section 202.260.
3127 SECTION 3. The change in law made by this Act to Section
3228 202.259, Occupations Code, does not affect the validity of a
3329 license issued under that section before the effective date of this
3430 Act. A license issued under that section before the effective date
3531 of this Act that is in effect on that date expires according to the
3632 term provided on the date of issuance, and the former law is
3733 continued in effect for that purpose.
3834 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
