7 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The State of Texas and the State of Israel share a |

10 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Since the establishment of diplomatic relations |

11 | 14 | | between the United States and Israel in 1949, the bond between the |

12 | 15 | | two nations has grown stronger, and Texas has played a significant |
---|
13 | 16 | | role in fostering economic, cultural, and strategic partnerships |
---|
14 | 17 | | with Israel; and |
---|
15 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Israel is a leader in technological innovation, |
---|
16 | 19 | | cybersecurity, energy, agriculture, and water conservation, which |
---|
17 | 20 | | are all areas that align closely with Texas' economic strengths; |
---|
18 | 21 | | those shared interests help to foster collaborative opportunities |
---|
19 | 22 | | for businesses, universities, and research institutions in both |
---|
20 | 23 | | regions; and |
---|
21 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Texas and Israel maintain a robust trade |
---|
22 | 25 | | relationship, and Texas ranks among the top U.S. states for exports |
---|
23 | 26 | | to Israel, contributing billions of dollars annually to the |
---|
24 | 27 | | economies of both regions through trade in the technology, medical |
---|
25 | 28 | | equipment, and defense industries; and |
---|
26 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Texas and Israel have benefited immeasurably |

27 | 30 | | through their decades-long alliance, and the regions have |
---|
28 | 31 | | demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting stability and |
---|
29 | 32 | | prosperity; now, therefore, be it |
---|
30 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |
---|
31 | 34 | | hereby reaffirm the enduring bond between Texas and Israel and |
---|
32 | 35 | | express its continued support for expanding economic, educational, |
---|
33 | 36 | | and cultural ties between the two regions; and, be it further |
---|
34 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate |
---|
35 | 38 | | hereby: |

36 | 39 | | (a) express continuing support for the bilateral trade |
---|
37 | 40 | | agreement between the United States and Israel; and |
---|
38 | 41 | | (b) express support for a Texas Trade and Investment Office |
---|
39 | 42 | | in Jerusalem, Israel, the eternal, undivided capital of the State |
---|
40 | 43 | | of Israel, to be the center of trade and investment activities for |
---|
41 | 44 | | Israel and countries that are a part of the Abraham Accords or have |
---|
42 | 45 | | a signed peace treaty with Israel; and, be it further |
---|
43 | 46 | | RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate |
---|
44 | 47 | | hereby recognize Israel for its contributions to global security, |
---|
45 | 48 | | technological advancements, and humanitarian efforts, and reaffirm |
---|
46 | 49 | | their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of shared |
---|
47 | 50 | | interest; and, be it further |

48 | 51 | | RESOLVED, That the Texas Secretary of State forward official |

49 | 52 | | copies of this resolution to the Governor of Texas, to the President |
---|
50 | 53 | | of the United States, to the Israeli Ambassador to the United |
---|
51 | 54 | | States, and to the Consul General of Israel to Texas as an |
---|
52 | 55 | | expression of the sentiments of the Texas House of Representatives |
---|
53 | 56 | | and Senate. |
