69 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
710 WHEREAS, The State of Texas and the State of Israel share a
811 deep and enduring friendship rooted in mutual values, economic
912 ties, and a commitment to democracy and security; and
1013 WHEREAS, Since the establishment of diplomatic relations
1114 between the United States and Israel in 1949, the bond between the
1215 two nations has grown stronger, and Texas has played a significant
1316 role in fostering economic, cultural, and strategic partnerships
1417 with Israel; and
1518 WHEREAS, Israel is a leader in technological innovation,
1619 cybersecurity, energy, agriculture, and water conservation, which
1720 are all areas that align closely with Texas' economic strengths;
1821 those shared interests help to foster collaborative opportunities
1922 for businesses, universities, and research institutions in both
2023 regions; and
2124 WHEREAS, Texas and Israel maintain a robust trade
2225 relationship, and Texas ranks among the top U.S. states for exports
2326 to Israel, contributing billions of dollars annually to the
2427 economies of both regions through trade in the technology, medical
2528 equipment, and defense industries; and
2629 WHEREAS, Texas and Israel have benefited immeasurably
2730 through their decades-long alliance, and the regions have
2831 demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting stability and
2932 prosperity; now, therefore, be it
3033 RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas
3134 hereby reaffirm the enduring bond between Texas and Israel and
3235 express its continued support for expanding economic, educational,
3336 and cultural ties between the two regions; and, be it further
3437 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate
3538 hereby:
3639 (a) express continuing support for the bilateral trade
3740 agreement between the United States and Israel; and
3841 (b) express support for a Texas Trade and Investment Office
3942 in Jerusalem, Israel, the eternal, undivided capital of the State
4043 of Israel, to be the center of trade and investment activities for
4144 Israel and countries that are a part of the Abraham Accords or have
4245 a signed peace treaty with Israel; and, be it further
4346 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate
4447 hereby recognize Israel for its contributions to global security,
4548 technological advancements, and humanitarian efforts, and reaffirm
4649 their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of shared
4750 interest; and, be it further
4851 RESOLVED, That the Texas Secretary of State forward official
4952 copies of this resolution to the Governor of Texas, to the President
5053 of the United States, to the Israeli Ambassador to the United
5154 States, and to the Consul General of Israel to Texas as an
5255 expression of the sentiments of the Texas House of Representatives
5356 and Senate.
