| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission |

| 9 | 9 | | has contributed immeasurably to the development and maintenance of |

| 10 | 10 | | the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Located in Conroe, the Montgomery County Veterans |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Memorial Park encompasses multiple memorial galleries honoring |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | those who have served in our nation's armed forces; the park also |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | features a classical memorial structure, a pathway lined with berms |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | displaying the names of veterans, a tribute to all the branches of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the United States military, and a flag and memorial honoring first |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | responders; in addition, guests can learn more about the exhibits |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | at the Visitors' and Education Center; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | is the governing body of the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Park; the nonprofit works to honor and support veterans, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | active-duty military, and first responders while preserving |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | history and educating the public; the organization currently |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | benefits from the able leadership of its chair, the Honorable |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Jimmie C. Edwards III; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | men and women who have risked their lives in defense of our nation, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission is indeed |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | deserving of special recognition for its efforts to pay tribute to |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | their sacrifice and dedication; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | hereby honor the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission for |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | its stewardship of the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | extend to all those affiliated with the organization sincere best |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | wishes for continued success in their important work; and, be it |
