12 | 12 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
14 | 14 | adding Section 1-s to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | Sec. 1-s. (a) The legislature by general law may exempt | |
16 | 16 | from ad valorem taxation tangible personal property consisting of | |
17 | 17 | animal feed held by the owner of the property for sale at retail. | |
18 | 18 | (b) The legislature by general law may provide additional | |
19 | 19 | eligibility requirements for the exemption authorized by this | |
20 | 20 | section. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
22 | 22 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
23 | 23 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
24 | 24 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the | |
25 | 25 | legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation tangible personal | |
26 | 26 | property consisting of animal feed held by the owner of the property | |
27 | 27 | for sale at retail." |
