10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article VI, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Section 1a to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 1a. The legislature by general law may provide for | |
14 | 14 | voting in a primary election by a person who: | |
15 | 15 | (1) will be 18 years of age or older on the date of the | |
16 | 16 | subsequent general election for state and county officers; and | |
17 | 17 | (2) satisfies the other applicable requirements for | |
18 | 18 | eligibility to vote. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
20 | 20 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
21 | 21 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
22 | 22 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing a person | |
23 | 23 | who will be 18 years of age or older on the date of the general | |
24 | 24 | election for state and county officers to vote in the preceding | |
25 | 25 | primary election." |
