28 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Building Owners and Managers
39 Association are gathering in Austin on February 19, 2025, to
410 celebrate Texas BOMA Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and
511 WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state-federated
612 organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the
7- interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate
8- business; it is composed of more than 2,500 members statewide and
9- five federated associations in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth,
10- Houston, and San Antonio; its members support over 100,000 jobs
11- and add billions of dollars to the state's economy; and
12- WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent
13- organization and local affiliates in working to reduce the
14- environmental impact of development by advancing energy
15- efficiency and sustainability initiatives; since 2007, BOMA
16- International has been honored by the Environmental Protection
17- Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy with 13 ENERGY STAR
18- Partner of the Year: Sustained Excellence Awards; and
19- WHEREAS, For nearly nine decades, Texas BOMA has served as
20- a voice for those who work in the commercial real estate industry
21- while helping to promote responsible building practices, and
22- this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor the
23- organization and its members; now, therefore, be it
24- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
25- Legislature, hereby recognize February 19, 2025, as Texas
26- Building Owners and Managers Association Advocacy Day at the
27- State Capitol and extend to the members of the delegation sincere
28- best wishes for an enjoyable visit to Austin; and, be it further
