58 WHEREAS, The passing of Larry Lyndon Beauchamp of Lawn on
6- December 26, 2024, at the age of 86, concluded a remarkable life
7- of service to the law enforcement community and to the State of
8- Texas; and
9+ December 26, 2024, at the age of 86, concluded a remarkable life of
10+ service to the law enforcement community and to the State of Texas;
11+ and
912 WHEREAS, The youngest child of P. G. and Bertie Beauchamp,
1013 Larry Beauchamp was born in Terry County on March 4, 1938, and he
11- grew up with four siblings, P. G., James, Ada, and Joyce;
12- following his graduation from Rochester High School, he
13- exchanged wedding vows with his childhood sweetheart, the former
14- Frankie Jo Sherley, on June 30, 1956; the couple shared a
15- rewarding marriage that spanned 68 years, raising two children,
16- James and John, and welcoming five grandchildren and four
17- great-grandchildren into their treasured family; and
14+ grew up with four siblings, P. G., James, Ada, and Joyce; following
15+ his graduation from Rochester High School, he exchanged wedding
16+ vows with his childhood sweetheart, the former Frankie Jo Sherley,
17+ on June 30, 1956; the couple shared a rewarding marriage that

19+ welcoming five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren into

1821 WHEREAS, Mr. Beauchamp began his 35-year law enforcement
1922 career with the Brownfield Police Department; after spending more
2023 than a decade there, he was stationed with the U.S. Army military
21- police in Colorado, in Georgia, and at Fort Bliss in El Paso; he went
22- on to serve as chief of the New Braunfels Police Department and as
23- chief of legislative and capitol security for the Texas State Capitol
24- complex; in addition, he was an investigator with the Texas Board of
25- Investigators in Midland, the Haskell County District Attorney's
26- Office, and the Travis County District Attorney's Office public
27- integrity unit; he later served as an assistant commissioner with the
28- Texas Department of Agriculture and as a construction manager with the
29- Texas Veterans Land Board; a graduate of the Federal Bureau of
30- Investigation National Academy, he distinguished himself over the
31- years by earning a reputation for his commitment to professional
32- development and ethical standards; and
33- WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a dedicated public
34- servant, Larry Beauchamp is deeply missed, but the integrity with
35- which he lived his life will forever inspire all who had the good
36- fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
37- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State Of Texas, 89th
38- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Larry Lyndon
39- Beauchamp and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his
40- family: to his wife, Frankie Jo Beauchamp; to his sons, James Lyndon
41- Beauchamp and John Presley Beauchamp; to his grandchildren, Kourtney
42- Amelia Schopper, Caleigh Rea Popp, and Presley Suresh, Nila Jo, and

4750 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
