58 WHEREAS, The passing of Karl McElhaney has brought a
69 tremendous loss to his family, colleagues, and friends; and
7- WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Mr. McElhaney enjoyed
8- a rewarding career with El Paso County, and he contributed
9- immeasurably to the El Paso Chamber; he worked tirelessly to
10- serve the people of New Mexico and Texas through partnerships
11- with elected officials at the federal and county levels, and he
12- advocated for improvements to infrastructure in rural
13- communities; he also helped to craft policies and manage
14- congressional district work and committee assignments; his
15- integrity, skilled mentorship, and steadfast commitment to
16- excellence earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew
17- him; and
10+ WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Mr. McElhaney enjoyed a
11+ rewarding career with El Paso County, and he contributed
12+ immeasurably to the El Paso Chamber; he worked tirelessly to serve
13+ the people of New Mexico and Texas through partnerships with
14+ elected officials at the federal and county levels, and he
15+ advocated for improvements to infrastructure in rural communities;

18+ and steadfast commitment to excellence earned him the respect and

1820 WHEREAS, Mr. McElhaney further gave back to his community
1921 through volunteer efforts such as fostering, rescuing, and
2022 transporting dogs and cats for adoption programs; above all else,
2123 he treasured time spent with his family, which included his three
2224 siblings, Liz, Jerry, and Jeffrey, and his two sons, Jacob and
2325 Jonathan; and
24- WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Karl
25- McElhaney leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose
26- lives are far richer for having known him, and he will always hold
27- a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
28- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
29- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karl McElhaney
30- and extend sincere condolences to his relatives and many friends;
31- and, be it further
26+ WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Karl McElhaney
27+ leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
28+ richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
29+ place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
30+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
31+ hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karl McElhaney and extend
32+ sincere condolences to his relatives and many friends; and, be it
33+ further
3234 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
33- prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
