 SENATE RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the City of Edinburg, which was honored with a 2024
 All-America City Award, and to join its citizens in celebrating
 Edinburg Day at the State Capitol on February 18, 2025; and
 WHEREAS, The county seat of Hidalgo County, Edinburg is a
 thriving community in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley that
 holds a wealth of opportunities for residents and visitors alike,
 and in June of 2024, the city was awarded one of ten prestigious
 designations as an All-America City; and
 WHEREAS, One of the oldest and most distinguished
 municipal recognition awards in the nation, the All-America City
 Award is an endeavor of the National Civic League to honor
 communities that engage citizens in innovative, inclusive, and
 effective efforts to overcome critical challenges and improve
 the quality of life for area residents; and
 WHEREAS, Through the forward-thinking leadership of Mayor
 Ramiro Garza Jr., the collaboration of Edinburg City Council
 members, and the support of a devoted civic workforce and local
 citizens, Edinburg has established itself as a model city that
 creates avenues for residents to participate in community
 planning and local governance, and the city is honored to be a
 four-time recipient of the All-America City Award; and
 WHEREAS, Edinburg is one of the fastest-growing cities in
 the state and is considered a regional hub for health care and air
 travel; home to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's main
 campus and School of Medicine, Edinburg draws thousands of
 visitors to its sports arenas and recreational venues, and the
 city is often referred to as the "Hometown of Heroes"; and
 WHEREAS, The City of Edinburg has demonstrated an
 impressive commitment to creating positive change in the local
 community by implementing meaningful initiatives that strengthen
 community ties and empower citizens, and city leaders,
 organizations, and residents are indeed deserving of special
 recognition and can take pride in their flourishing community
 while looking forward to a bright and prosperous future; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
 Legislature, hereby commend the people of Edinburg on their many
 contributions to the state and their city's designation as an
 All-America City and extend to them best wishes for a memorable
 Edinburg Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the city as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
