| 6 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The county seat of Hidalgo County, Edinburg is a |

| 7 | 13 | | thriving community in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley that |

| 8 | 14 | | holds a wealth of opportunities for residents and visitors alike, |

| 9 | 15 | | and in June of 2024, the city was awarded one of ten prestigious |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | designations as an All-America City; and |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | WHEREAS, One of the oldest and most distinguished |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | municipal recognition awards in the nation, the All-America City |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | Award is an endeavor of the National Civic League to honor |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | communities that engage citizens in innovative, inclusive, and |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | effective efforts to overcome critical challenges and improve |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | the quality of life for area residents; and |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through the forward-thinking leadership of Mayor |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | Ramiro Garza Jr., the collaboration of Edinburg City Council |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | members, and the support of a devoted civic workforce and local |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | citizens, Edinburg has established itself as a model city that |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | creates avenues for residents to participate in community |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | planning and local governance, and the city is honored to be a |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | four-time recipient of the All-America City Award; and |
|---|
| 24 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Edinburg is one of the fastest-growing cities in |
|---|
| 25 | 31 | | the state and is considered a regional hub for health care and air |
|---|
| 26 | 32 | | travel; home to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's main |
|---|
| 27 | 33 | | campus and School of Medicine, Edinburg draws thousands of |
|---|
| 28 | 34 | | visitors to its sports arenas and recreational venues, and the |
|---|
| 29 | 35 | | city is often referred to as the "Hometown of Heroes"; and |
|---|
| 30 | 36 | | WHEREAS, The City of Edinburg has demonstrated an |
|---|
| 31 | 37 | | impressive commitment to creating positive change in the local |
|---|
| 32 | 38 | | community by implementing meaningful initiatives that strengthen |
|---|
| 33 | 39 | | community ties and empower citizens, and city leaders, |
|---|
| 34 | 40 | | organizations, and residents are indeed deserving of special |
|---|
| 35 | 41 | | recognition and can take pride in their flourishing community |
|---|
| 36 | 42 | | while looking forward to a bright and prosperous future; now, |
|---|
| 37 | 43 | | therefore, be it |

| 38 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |

| 39 | 45 | | Legislature, hereby commend the people of Edinburg on their many |

| 40 | 46 | | contributions to the state and their city's designation as an |
|---|
| 41 | 47 | | All-America City and extend to them best wishes for a memorable |
|---|
| 42 | 48 | | Edinburg Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |

| 43 | 49 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
