2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize Maynard Yates, a 50-year member of Kappa Alpha Psi
4	10		Fraternity, Incorporated, who is being honored by the Dallas
5	11		Alumni Chapter at the 2025 Chapter Anniversary on March 9, 2025;
6	12		and
7	13		WHEREAS, The Dallas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi
8	14		Fraternity was established on March 9, 1935, with a mission to
9	15		institute programs of community service, civic engagement, and
10	16		social enlightenment in North Texas; the chapter will recognize
11	17		its long-standing members at its annual chapter anniversary
12	18		celebration; and
13	19		WHEREAS, Maynard Yates was inducted into the Delta Sigma
14	20		Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in the spring of 1975 at Bishop
15	21		College; he has served as a faithful leader of the Dallas Alumni
16	22		Chapter and in the North Texas region and has mentored many new
17	23		members; he is active in the fraternity's community and civic
18	24		engagement initiatives and regularly supports youth
19	25		participating in academic and community programs; and
20	26		WHEREAS, Maynard is truly deserving of recognition for his
21	27		longtime membership in Kappa Alpha Psi and for the role he has
22	28		played in helping the Dallas Alumni Chapter to carry out the
23	29		fraternity's mission of encouraging high scholastic and ethical
24	30		standards, promoting unity and friendship, and empowering men to
25	31		serve their communities; now, therefore, be it
26	32		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
27	33		Legislature, hereby commend Maynard Yates on his many
28	34		achievements and extend congratulations to him on being honored
29	35		by the Dallas Alumni Chapter as a 50-year member of Kappa Alpha
30	36		Psi Fraternity at its 90th anniversary celebration; and, be it
31	37		further
32	38		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
33	39		him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
