SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127 In Memory of Victor Lee Morriss WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Granbury in mourning the loss of Victor Lee Morriss, who died October 16, 2024, at the age of 71; and WHEREAS, Vic Morriss was born February 11, 1953, in Fort Stockton; he was raised in Talco, and he moved to Arlington for high school and became the football team's star quarterback; he went on to play football at Texas Christian University and at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business; and WHEREAS, Known for his confidence and his diligent work ethic, Mr. Morriss began his professional career as a sports agent for athletes signing on with the American Football League, and he had exceptional success as a commercial superintendent with Lincoln Builders, as well as building homes in Granbury alongside his beloved wife, Dani, whom he married in 2001; and WHEREAS, Mr. Morriss shared his faith and passion for serving others as an active member of Harvest Church, where he taught children and led a life group for senior citizens, and he found great joy exploring the outdoors and traveling to visit family with Dani; and WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, and friend, Vic Morriss leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and perseverance that will be treasured by all who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Victor Lee Morriss; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vic Morriss.
