	7	+	SENATE RESOLUTION
5	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
6	9		citizens of Granbury in mourning the loss of Victor Lee Morriss,
7	10		who died October 16, 2024, at the age of 71; and
8	11		WHEREAS, Vic Morriss was born February 11, 1953, in Fort
9	12		Stockton; he was raised in Talco, and he moved to Arlington for
10	13		high school and became the football team's star quarterback; he
11	14		went on to play football at Texas Christian University and at The
12	15		University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a bachelor's
13	16		degree in business; and
14	17		WHEREAS, Known for his confidence and his diligent work
15	18		ethic, Mr. Morriss began his professional career as a sports
16	19		agent for athletes signing on with the American Football League,
17	20		and he had exceptional success as a commercial superintendent
18	21		with Lincoln Builders, as well as building homes in Granbury
19	22		alongside his beloved wife, Dani, whom he married in 2001; and
20	23		WHEREAS, Mr. Morriss shared his faith and passion for
21	24		serving others as an active member of Harvest Church, where he
22	25		taught children and led a life group for senior citizens, and he
23	26		found great joy exploring the outdoors and traveling to visit
24	27		family with Dani; and
25	28		WHEREAS, A devoted husband, father, and friend, Vic
26	29		Morriss leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, and
27	30		perseverance that will be treasured by all who were privileged to
28	31		share in his life; now, therefore, be it
29	32		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
30	33		Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
31	34		family of Victor Lee Morriss; and, be it further
32	35		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
33	36		his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
34	37		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
35	38		memory of Vic Morriss.
