28 WHEREAS, Representatives of the City of Plano, the Plano
3- Chamber of Commerce, and the Plano Independent School District
4- are visiting Austin on February 25 to 26, 2025, to take part in
5- Plano Legislative Days at the State Capitol; and

612 WHEREAS, Boasting a population of approximately 292,000,
713 this self-styled City of Excellence garners accolades for its
814 prosperity and quality of life; today, the city and its residents
915 benefit from the outstanding leadership of Mayor John B. Muns and
10- the seven members of the city council, Mayor Pro Tempore Maria
11- Tu, Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Julie Holmer, Anthony Ricciardelli,
12- Rick Horne, Kayci Prince, Shelby Williams, and Rick Smith; among
13- its many accolades in 2024, Plano was recognized as the fourth
14- best city to raise a family by WalletHub, as the fifth best place
15- to live in America by Niche.com, and as the fourth top tech city
16- in the U.S. by Cloudwars.net; and
16+ the seven members of the city council, Mayor Pro Tempore Maria Tu,

2228 accessibility, the chamber represents many iconic global

24- JPMorgan Chase & Co., the Boeing Company, NTT DATA, JCPenney,
25- IKEA, Frito-Lay, and Capital One; its efforts have earned the
26- Plano Chamber a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of

42- hold master's degrees or above; about 95 percent of Plano ISD
43- students graduate high school in four years, and their scores on
44- college entrance exams continue to exceed those of their peers
45- nationwide; in addition, 74 Plano ISD seniors were awarded
46- semifinalist standing in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship
47- Program; the district is also home to a number of state,
48- national, and international winners in fine arts, career and
49- technical education, and science competitions, and three
50- district Parent Teacher Associations were recognized as National
51- PTA Schools of Excellence for 2023-2025; and

59- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
60- Legislature, hereby recognize February 25 to 26, 2025, as Plano
61- Legislative Days at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting
62- delegation sincere best wishes for an informative and enjoyable
63- stay in Austin.
