2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		join Texans across the state in celebrating February 25, 2025, as
4	10		Baylor Day at the State Capitol; and
5	11		WHEREAS, The state's oldest university in continual
6	12		operation, Baylor University was established by an act of the
7	13		Congress of the Republic of Texas on February 1, 1845; and
8	14		WHEREAS, This private Christian university and acclaimed
9	15		Research I institution offers baccalaureate, master's, and
10	16		doctoral degrees that attract thousands of students from Texas
11	17		and around the world; and
12	18		WHEREAS, The university is home to treasured traditions
13	19		and hundreds of student organizations, and many of its
14		-	exceptional athletic programs have won national
15		-	~~championships;~~ and

17	23		interdisciplinary research and faculty commitment to teaching

27	33		rewarding Baylor Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further
28	34		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
29	35		honor of this special occasion.
