28 WHEREAS, The observance of Green Light Houston Day at the
3- State Capitol on February 26, 2025, provides a welcome
4- opportunity to recognize Transportation Advocacy Group-Houston
5- Region for its many achievements; and
6- WHEREAS, Founded in 2011, TAG Houston is an affiliate of
7- the Greater Houston Partnership; the organization works to
8- increase mobility and enhance the quality of life for area
9- citizens, and it has played an instrumental role in the passage
10- of transportation legislation at the local and state levels; and
9+ State Capitol on February 26, 2025, provides a welcome opportunity
10+ to recognize Transportation Advocacy Group-Houston Region for its
11+ many achievements; and
12+ WHEREAS, Founded in 2011, TAG Houston is an affiliate of the
13+ Greater Houston Partnership; the organization works to increase
14+ mobility and enhance the quality of life for area citizens, and it
15+ has played an instrumental role in the passage of transportation
16+ legislation at the local and state levels; and
1117 WHEREAS, TAG has helped to build the city's reputation as a
1218 hub for transportation; Houston boasts an extensive network of
13- roadways that encompasses major highways such as Interstate 10
14- and Interstate 45, and its rail system serves as a critical
15- resource for the movement of both freight and passengers; in
16- addition, the city features a robust maritime system that
17- includes the Port of Houston, one of the largest ports in the
18- United States; and
19- WHEREAS, Since 2015, TAG has spearheaded Green Light
20- Houston Day to raise awareness of the region's mobility needs and
21- discuss transportation projects with legislators; for this
22- year's event, the organization is joined by the Highway 36A
23- Coalition, BayTran, and the I-69 Alliance; and

28- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
29- Legislature, hereby recognize February 26, 2025, as Green Light
30- Houston Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the
31- visiting delegation.
