28 WHEREAS, Representatives of the City of Allen, the Allen
39 Fairview Chamber of Commerce, and the Allen Independent School
410 District are gathering in Austin on February 26-27, 2025, to
511 celebrate Allen Days at the State Capitol; and
612 WHEREAS, Located in southwestern Collin County, Allen was
713 officially established in 1870 and today is a vibrant and diverse
814 community with a population of more than 100,000 people; the city
9- and its residents currently benefit from the outstanding
10- leadership of Mayor Baine Brooks, the six members of the city
11- council, Mayor Pro Tem Ben Trahan, Michael Schaeffer, Tommy
12- Baril, Ken Cook, Chris Schulmeister, and Carl Clemencich, and the
13- members of the city manager's office, city manager Eric
14- Ellwanger, deputy city manager Eric Strong, and assistant city
15- managers Rebecca Vice and Tim Dentler; and
16- WHEREAS, Contributing greatly to the city's success is
17- the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce, which is committed to
15+ and its residents currently benefit from the outstanding leadership
16+ of Mayor Baine Brooks, the six members of the city council, Mayor
17+ Pro Tem Ben Trahan, Michael Schaeffer, Tommy Baril, Ken Cook, Chris
18+ Schulmeister, and Carl Clemencich, and the members of the city
19+ manager's office, city manager Eric Ellwanger, deputy city manager
20+ Eric Strong, and assistant city managers Rebecca Vice and Tim
21+ Dentler; and
22+ WHEREAS, Contributing greatly to the city's success is the
23+ Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce, which is committed to
1824 supporting economic growth through advocacy, education, and
1925 collaboration; the association is guided by CEO Kyle Jacobson,
2026 membership director Saundra Midkiff, finance director Karen
2127 Simpson, programming and marketing director Tracy Walker, and
2228 engagement and retention director Emily Strickland; and
2329 WHEREAS, The Allen community is further served by the
24- award-winning Allen Independent School District, which is
25- tasked with preparing more than 21,000 young Texans for the
26- challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; Allen ISD is ably
27- led by superintendent Dr. Robin Bullock and a dedicated board
28- of trustees; and
29- WHEREAS, Allen has established itself as an outstanding
30- place to live and work, and leaders of the City of Allen, the
31- Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce, and the Allen Independent
32- School District are helping to build an even brighter and more
33- prosperous future for their thriving community; now, therefore,
34- be it
35- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
36- Legislature, hereby recognize representatives of the City of
37- Allen, the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce, and the Allen
38- Independent School District on the occasion of Allen Days at the
39- State Capitol on February 26-27, 2025, and extend a warm welcome
40- to the visiting delegation.
