1-SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 180
2- WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Nurses Association and other
3- nursing organizations are gathering in Austin on March 4, 2025,
4- for Nurse Day at the State Capitol; and
5- WHEREAS, Certified nursing assistants, licensed
6- vocational nurses, registered nurses, and advanced practice
7- registered nurses care for Texans each day in hospitals, nursing
8- homes, home health agencies, and other settings; registered
9- nurses constitute the largest health care profession in the
10- state, and they help to ensure that Texans have access to quality
11- health care at all stages of life; and
12- WHEREAS, Nurses have bravely served on the front lines
13- during the COVID-19 pandemic and protected the health of Texans,
14- often putting their own well-being in jeopardy; and
15- WHEREAS, Nurses are consistently rated by the Gallup Poll
16- each year as the highest-ranked professionals for honesty and
17- ethical standards, and across the profession, they share a
18- mission for promoting excellence in patient care, both at the
19- bedside and in the public arena; and
20- WHEREAS, Through their deep commitment to the health and
21- well-being of their patients and their advocacy on behalf of
22- quality health care, Texas nurses have earned the lasting
23- respect, admiration, and appreciation of their fellow citizens;
24- now, therefore, be it
25- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
26- Legislature, hereby recognize March 4, 2025, as Nurse Day at the
27- State Capitol and commend all nurses for their invaluable service
28- to the Lone Star State.
