2	8		WHEREAS, The Baptist General Convention of Texas is
3		-	celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Christian Life
4		-	~~Commission~~ in 2025; and
5		-	WHEREAS, The idea for the Christian Life Commission was
6		-	~~first~~ conceived by a group of messengers in 1949, when they voted
7		-	~~that the~~ Baptist General Convention of Texas should initiate a
8		-	~~plan to offer~~ spiritual guidance on current events and modern-day
9		-	~~issues; the~~ commission was officially established in 1950; and
	9	+	celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Christian Life Commission
	10	+	in 2025; and
	11	+	WHEREAS, The idea for the Christian Life Commission was first

12	18		that advocate for justice and public policies, promote ethical
13		-	Christian living, and partner with other organizations to

20		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
21		-	Legislature, hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the
22		-	Christian Life Commission and extend to all those affiliated with
23		-	the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
24		-	further

	25	+	in its history; now, therefore, be it
	26	+	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
	27	+	hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Christian Life
	28	+	Commission and extend to all those affiliated with the organization
	29	+	sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
25	30		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
26		-	prepared for the commission as an expression of high regard from
27		-	the Texas Senate.
