2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize the American Society of Landscape Architects on the
4	10		grand occasion of the organization's 125th anniversary; and
5	11		WHEREAS, Professional landscape architects utilize their
6	12		expertise to analyze, plan, and manage healthy, equitable, and
7	13		resilient spaces in our communities; and
8	14		WHEREAS, Landscape architects design community
9	15		masterplans, walkable neighborhoods, multimodal transportation
10	16		networks, green stormwater systems, and accessible parks,
11	17		trails, and gathering places that promote active, healthy
12	18		lifestyles; and
13	19		WHEREAS, Leaders in research and innovation, landscape
14	20		architects leverage their knowledge of science, technology,
15	21		engineering, and mathematics to address some of society's most
16	22		pressing challenges; using sustainable design practices creates
17	23		resilient infrastructure that withstands severe weather events
18		-	and helps to reduce the effect of humanity's impact on nature; and

19	26		WHEREAS, Future generations of landscape architects in the
20	27		Lone Star State gain the skills necessary to excel as leaders in
21	28		their field through accredited architecture programs offered at
22	29		The University of Texas at Arlington, The University of Texas at
23	30		Austin, Texas A&M University, and Texas Tech University; and
24	31		WHEREAS, The 125th anniversary of the American Society of
25	32		Landscape Architects is a fitting opportunity for Texans to
26	33		reflect on the vital and transformative role licensed
27	34		professional landscape architects have had in shaping the
28	35		economic, social, and cultural amenities of our state's many
29	36		thriving communities and vibrant spaces; now, therefore, be it
30	37		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
31	38		Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the members of the
32	39		American Society of Landscape Architects on the organization's
33	40		125th anniversary and join them in recognizing the month of April
34	41		of 2025 as Landscape Architecture Month; and, be it further
35	42		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
36	43		the society as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
