5	7		WHEREAS, The passing of Karl McElhaney has brought a
6	8		tremendous loss to his family, colleagues, and friends; and
7	9		WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Mr. McElhaney enjoyed
8	10		a rewarding career with El Paso County, and he contributed
9	11		immeasurably to the El Paso Chamber; he worked tirelessly to
10	12		serve the people of New Mexico and Texas through partnerships
11	13		with elected officials at the federal and county levels, and he
12	14		advocated for improvements to infrastructure in rural
13	15		communities; he also helped to craft policies and manage
14	16		congressional district work and committee assignments; his
15	17		integrity, skilled mentorship, and steadfast commitment to
16	18		excellence earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew
17	19		him; and
18	20		WHEREAS, Mr. McElhaney further gave back to his community
19	21		through volunteer efforts such as fostering, rescuing, and
20	22		transporting dogs and cats for adoption programs; above all else,
21	23		he treasured time spent with his family, which included his three
22	24		siblings, Liz, Jerry, and Jeffrey, and his son, Jacob; and
23	25		WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Karl
24	26		McElhaney leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose
25	27		lives are far richer for having known him, and he will always hold
26	28		a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
27		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the ~~State of~~ Texas~~, 89th~~
28		-	~~Legislature,~~ hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karl McElhaney
29		-	~~and extend~~ sincere condolences to his relatives and many friends;
