28 WHEREAS, Surveyors play an essential role in ensuring the
3- success and efficiency of infrastructure and property
4- development across the Lone Star State, and these dedicated
5- professionals are being honored with the observance of National
6- Surveyors Week from March 16 to 22, 2025; and

713 WHEREAS, National Surveyors Week was established by the
814 National Society of Professional Surveyors to bring public
915 recognition to the sector and its role in shaping modern society;
10- during the annual event, thousands of professional surveyors
11- across the country and state take part in local activities
12- designed to introduce a new generation to the industry and
13- showcase the use of technology in their work; and
14- WHEREAS, Since the earliest days of its founding, our
15- nation has relied upon land surveyors to create accurate maps and
16- define property boundaries, paving the way for the establishment
17- of roads, buildings, and other vital elements of civilization;
18- surveyors have included prominent figures in our society,
19- including Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, and
20- the efforts of the first American surveyors helped shape our
21- country's westward expansion by enabling prospective settlers to
22- achieve the dream of land ownership; today, surveyors continue to
23- apply their expertise in such scientific specialties as geodesy,
24- physics, and engineering to projects that are crucial to the
25- growth and development of our cities and communities; and

31- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
32- Legislature, hereby recognize March 16-22, 2025, as National
33- Surveyors Week and extend to all those associated with the
34- industry sincere best wishes for continued success.
