28 WHEREAS, For 60 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Concho
3- Valley has been a cornerstone for youth development in San
4- Angelo; and

511 WHEREAS, Founded in 1965 as the San Angelo Boys Club, the
612 organization initially served boys in Tom Green County; in 1990,
7- the club expanded its membership and officially changed its name
8- to the Boys & Girls Club, and it later merged with the Boys &
9- Girls Club of Menard; over the years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of
10- the Concho Valley has provided thousands of children and teens
11- with educational support, mentorship, leadership training, and
13+ the club expanded its membership and officially changed its name to
14+ the Boys & Girls Club, and it later merged with the Boys & Girls Club
15+ of Menard; over the years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Concho
16+ Valley has provided thousands of children and teens with
17+ educational support, mentorship, leadership training, and
1218 character-building programs that help them build a strong
1319 foundation for future success; and
14- WHEREAS, The organization is committed to promoting
15- academic achievement, good citizenship, and healthy lifestyles,
16- particularly among youth who are most in need of its resources;
17- with the help of its dedicated staff and volunteers and strong
18- community partnerships, it continues to expand its reach and
19- enhance its services in its mission to ensure that every child
20- has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive; and
20+ WHEREAS, The organization is committed to promoting academic
21+ achievement, good citizenship, and healthy lifestyles,
22+ particularly among youth who are most in need of its resources; with
23+ the help of its dedicated staff and volunteers and strong community
24+ partnerships, it continues to expand its reach and enhance its
25+ services in its mission to ensure that every child has the
26+ opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive; and
2127 WHEREAS, Over the course of six decades, the Boys & Girls
2228 Clubs of the Concho Valley has had a transformative impact on the
23- lives of countless young people and families, and it is a
24- pleasure to join in celebrating the longevity of this outstanding

30+ to join in celebrating the longevity of this outstanding
2531 organization and the many ways it has strengthened the community;
2632 now, therefore, be it
27- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
28- Legislature, hereby honor the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Concho
29- Valley on the occasion of its 60th anniversary and commend all
30- those associated with the organization for their steadfast
31- service to young Texans; and, be it further
33+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
34+ hereby honor the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Concho Valley on the
35+ occasion of its 60th anniversary and commend all those associated
36+ with the organization for their steadfast service to young Texans;
