28 WHEREAS, Professional golfer and Austin resident Sergio
39 García has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments during

5- WHEREAS, Born in Castellón, Spain, Mr. García took up golf
6- at the age of three; he produced one of the most accomplished
7- amateur careers in the history of the sport, claiming a total of
8- 21 tournament titles, including the Topolino World Junior

32- WHEREAS, Off the course, Mr. García has distinguished
33- himself through his philanthropic work; he and his wife
34- established the Sergio & Angela García Foundation and FORE Kids
35- ATX, which has raised nearly $5 million for entities that provide
36- health care and support services to children and families in
37- Central Texas; and
38- WHEREAS, With his charismatic playing style and dedication
39- to excellence, Sergio García has inspired golf fans across the
40- globe, and it is a privilege to join in recognizing this
41- exceptional athlete; now, therefore, be it
42- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
43- Legislature, hereby honor professional golfer Sergio García for
44- his myriad achievements and extend to him sincere best wishes for
45- the future; and, be it further
