8+ WHEREAS, Sonora Bank is celebrating its 125th anniversary on
9+ March 18, 2025, providing a fitting opportunity to recognize the
10+ important role it has played in communities across the West Texas
11+ region and beyond; and
612 WHEREAS, The institution traces its origins to 1900, when
7- E. R. Jackson organized the First National Bank of Sonora; he
8- was elected president during a meeting on May 3, and he was joined
9- on the inaugural board of directors by W. L. Aldwell, E. F. Vander

16- tremendous resilience in withstanding financial challenges
17- during such events as the Great Depression and World Wars I and
18- II; and
19- WHEREAS, Today, Sonora Bank encompasses 10 locations
20- across West Texas and the Hill Country, including branches in
21- Boerne, Bulverde, Hutto, New Braunfels, San Angelo, San Antonio,
22- and Wimberley; benefiting from the leadership of its
23- shareholders and its board of directors, which includes Bob
24- Malone, Jamie Davis Mayer, Bridget Carr, Lindsay Johnson Cranek,
25- Edward Earwood, Paul Mueller, and Besa Robison Martin, the bank
26- helps create employment opportunities for residents while
27- partnering with area organizations; moreover, it gives back to
28- the community at large through its philanthropic efforts and
29- support of civic programs; and

35- existence well into the future; now, therefore, be it
36- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
37- Legislature, hereby commemorate the 125th anniversary of Sonora
38- Bank and extend to all those associated with the institution
39- sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
36+ demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the people of the Lone Star
37+ State by fostering financial stability and prosperity across
38+ generations, and the foundation of good corporate citizenship on
39+ which it is built will help to ensure its existence well into the
40+ future; now, therefore, be it
41+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
42+ hereby commemorate the 125th anniversary of Sonora Bank and extend
43+ to all those associated with the institution sincere best wishes
44+ for continued success; and, be it further
