2	8		WHEREAS, Sherman County and District Clerk Laura Rogers
3		-	played a critical role in saving the life of a fellow citizen at
4		-	~~the~~ State Capitol on May 29, 2024; and

5	11		WHEREAS, Ms. Rogers, a former paramedic, was attending a
6	12		Texas Senate hearing on the day of the incident when she noticed a
7		-	man experiencing a health emergency; after helping to move the
8		-	~~man~~ to the floor, she began a medical assessment and determined
9		-	~~that he~~ had a faint pulse; she then initiated CPR and requested an
10		-	~~automated~~ external defibrillator, which she subsequently used
11		-	~~three times;~~ and

16		-	WHEREAS, Through her skill and quick thinking, Laura
17		-	~~Rogers~~ helped to avert a potential tragedy, and she is truly
18		-	~~deserving of~~ special recognition for her outstanding efforts;
19		-	~~now, therefore, be~~ it
20		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the ~~State of~~ Texas~~, 89th~~
21		-	~~Legislature,~~ hereby commend Laura Rogers for her lifesaving
22		-	~~actions on May 29,~~ 2024, and extend to her sincere best wishes for
23		-	~~the future; and, be~~ it further
