| 5 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Born in Laredo on January 28, 1940, Rosina |

| 6 | 12 | | attended Ursuline Academy, where she met her high school |

| 7 | 13 | | sweetheart, Blas M. Martinez, and earned her diploma in 1958; and |

| 8 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Rosina earned a degree in vocational home |

| 9 | 15 | | economics from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, and she and |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | Blas were married on February 14, 1960; they shared nearly 50 |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | years of marriage until the time of his passing, and together |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | they found great joy in rearing a family and through their |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | worldwide travels; and |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | WHEREAS, After teaching junior high school for two years, |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | Rosina fully devoted herself to rearing her children and shared |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | with them her love of music, theater, travel, and adventure; over |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | the years, she has generously donated her time as a volunteer |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | with many charitable organizations and clubs and as a member of |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | Parent Teacher Associations at her children's schools; and |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep spiritual faith, Rosina has been |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | an active parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Church for more than |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | five decades; she was one of the first women in Laredo to become a |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | Eucharistic minister, and she is especially proud of the prayer |
|---|
| 24 | 30 | | workshops and marriage preparation courses she taught with her |
|---|
| 25 | 31 | | husband for many years at the church; and |
|---|
| 26 | 32 | | WHEREAS, A beloved matriarch to her seven children and her |
|---|
| 27 | 33 | | 20 grandchildren, Rosina is renowned for her exceptional skill as |
|---|
| 28 | 34 | | a cook and baker, and she is noted for her gracious and generous |
|---|
| 29 | 35 | | spirit; she is a treasured member of her community, and her 85th |
|---|
| 30 | 36 | | birthday is indeed a fitting occasion for her loved ones to join |
|---|
| 31 | 37 | | in celebration and to express their admiration and affection for |
|---|
| 32 | 38 | | her; now, therefore, be it |
