10		-	1854, and it was named in honor of Middleton T. Johnson, a veteran

	10	+	the State Capitol; and
	11	+	WHEREAS, Located in North Central Texas on the southwestern
	12	+	edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Johnson County covers
	13	+	approximately 740 square miles; among the first known settlers of

17		-	Cleburne; these shops encompassed construction facilities and a
18		-	switchyard and brought economic growth and job opportunities to
19		-	the area; today, the county's leading industries include retail
20		-	trade, health care and social assistance, and manufacturing; and
21		-	WHEREAS, Johnson County boasts a number of attractions,
22		-	among them Cleburne State Park, Hamm Creek Park, the Cleburne
23		-	Railroad Museum, and the Mansfield Historic Museum and Heritage
24		-	Center; higher education institutions in the region include
25		-	Southwestern Adventist University and Hill College; and
26		-	WHEREAS, Offering an attractive rural setting combined
27		-	with proximity to urban amenities, Johnson County is an
28		-	outstandingplacetolive,work,andraiseafamily,andits
29		-	citizens may indeed take pride in their community's unique
30		-	contributions to the story of the Lone Star State; now,
31		-	therefore, be it
32		-	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
33		-	Legislature, hereby recognize March 25, 2025, as Johnson County
34		-	Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting
35		-	delegation.
