2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		join in celebrating March 25, 2025, as Paws Fur Help Day at the
4	10		State Capitol; and
5	11		WHEREAS, Established in 2022, Paws Fur Help is a nonprofit
6	12		organization founded on a mission to protect and advocate for
7	13		vulnerable companion animals in Hidalgo County; the organization
8	14		is guided by a devoted board of directors and community
9	15		volunteers who work tirelessly to increase awareness and promote
10	16		regulations regarding animal welfare; and
11		-	WHEREAS, In addition to helping to educate the public, Paws
12		-	Fur Help facilitates adoption events and transportation services
13		-	for rehoming animals, collaborates with area school districts to
14		-	build and deliver dog houses to families in need, and manages a
15		-	pet food pantry that also offers medications for flea and tick
16		-	prevention; the organization works with the community to raise
17		-	funds for spaying and neutering and advocates positive change by
18		-	communicating with elected officials, attending animal-related
19		-	court cases, and lobbying for ordinances and laws that promote
20		-	the well-being and ethical treatment of animals; and
	17	+	WHEREAS, In addition to helping to educate the public,
	18	+	Paws Fur Help facilitates adoption events and transportation

25	32		Star State, and all who have contributed to its success are truly
26	33		worthy of special recognition for their efforts; now, therefore,
27	34		be it
28	35		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
29	36		Legislature, hereby commend the dedicated volunteers and board
30	37		members of Paws Fur Help for their exemplary service on behalf of
31	38		companion animals and extend to all best wishes for a rewarding
32	39		Paws Fur Help Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
33		-	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
34		-	organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
