2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps
4	10		and to join in celebrating March 21 through 26, 2025, as Marine
5	11		Week Austin; and
6	12		WHEREAS, The United States Marine Corps is marking its
7	13		250th anniversary on November 10, 2025, and will honor the legacy
8	14		of support and fidelity between the United States and the Marine
9	15		Corps in a series of community events and ceremonies throughout
10	16		the year; and
11	17		WHEREAS, Since 1775, Marines from across the country and
12	18		all walks of life have volunteered to serve their nation with
13	19		distinction, and these devoted servicemen and women have
14	20		faithfully embodied the Marines' uncompromising standards of
15	21		honor, courage, and commitment; and
16	22		WHEREAS, The United States Marines carry a legacy of
17	23		battlefield heroism, relentless pursuit of victory, and the
18	24		fighting spirit that guided them through Iwo Jima, the Chosin
19	25		Reservoir, Vietnam, and Helmand Province; they are an elite and
20	26		vital military force fueled by a long and proud heritage of
21	27		devoted service to the nation and driven by the resolve to face
22	28		tomorrow's challenges; and
23	29		WHEREAS, The Marine Corps is the premier naval
24	30		expeditionary force in readiness with nearly 38,000 Marines
25	31		deployed around the globe as members of a professional,
26	32		disciplined, and capable national force; at the conclusion of
27	33		their military service, Marines return home having selflessly
28	34		contributed to a cause greater than themselves, and they continue
29	35		to uphold the Marine Corps' fundamental values as engaged
30	36		citizens who work to strengthen and improve their communities;
31	37		now, therefore, be it
32	38		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
33	39		Legislature, hereby pay tribute to all members of the United
34	40		States Marine Corps, honor their 250-year legacy of steadfast
35	41		dedication to the defense of freedom, and join them in
36	42		celebrating March 21 through 26, 2025, as Marine Week Austin;
37	43		and, be it further
38	44		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
