7+ SENATE RESOLUTION
58 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
69 commemorates the life of Kathryn Angela Lofton Allen, who died
710 February 7, 2025, at the age of 63; and
811 WHEREAS, Kathy was born on May 21, 1961, and she was raised
912 in Port Arthur; after graduating from Abraham Lincoln High
1013 School, she pursued her love of fashion in Los Angeles at the
1114 Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising; and
1215 WHEREAS, Kathy moved back to Texas and settled with her
1316 family in Fort Worth; she enjoyed a rewarding, diverse career in
1417 the legal, communications, and fashion industries before joining
1518 American Airlines, where she served as executive assistant to a
1619 managing director until her retirement; and
1720 WHEREAS, Above all, Kathy cherished spending time with her
1821 loved ones; she was blessed with two sons, Adrian and Sean Allen,
1922 who were each a source of pride and joy to her, and her five
2023 grandchildren enriched her life immeasurably; and
2124 WHEREAS, Kathy practiced her spiritual faith in her daily
2225 life and found a sense of belonging as an active member of Mount
2326 Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was involved in many
2427 of the church's ministries; outside of her time spent engaged
2528 with church activities and her family, Kathy enjoyed many hobbies
2629 including traveling, cooking, and gardening; and
2730 WHEREAS, A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt,
2831 Kathy gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and
2932 enthusiasm for life will be forever cherished by her loving
3033 family, her many friends, and by all who were privileged to share
3134 in her life; now, therefore, be it
3235 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
3336 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
3437 family of Kathryn Angela Lofton Allen; and, be it further
3538 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
3639 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
3740 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
3841 memory of Kathy Lofton Allen.
