	7	+	SENATE RESOLUTION
5	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	9		commemorates the life of Kathryn Angela Lofton Allen, who died
7	10		February 7, 2025, at the age of 63; and
8	11		WHEREAS, Kathy was born on May 21, 1961, and she was raised
9	12		in Port Arthur; after graduating from Abraham Lincoln High
10	13		School, she pursued her love of fashion in Los Angeles at the
11	14		Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising; and
12	15		WHEREAS, Kathy moved back to Texas and settled with her
13	16		family in Fort Worth; she enjoyed a rewarding, diverse career in
14	17		the legal, communications, and fashion industries before joining
15	18		American Airlines, where she served as executive assistant to a
16	19		managing director until her retirement; and
17	20		WHEREAS, Above all, Kathy cherished spending time with her
18	21		loved ones; she was blessed with two sons, Adrian and Sean Allen,
19	22		who were each a source of pride and joy to her, and her five
20	23		grandchildren enriched her life immeasurably; and
21	24		WHEREAS, Kathy practiced her spiritual faith in her daily
22	25		life and found a sense of belonging as an active member of Mount
23	26		Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was involved in many
24	27		of the church's ministries; outside of her time spent engaged
25	28		with church activities and her family, Kathy enjoyed many hobbies
26	29		including traveling, cooking, and gardening; and
27	30		WHEREAS, A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt,
28	31		Kathy gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and
29	32		enthusiasm for life will be forever cherished by her loving
30	33		family, her many friends, and by all who were privileged to share
31	34		in her life; now, therefore, be it
32	35		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
33	36		Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
34	37		family of Kathryn Angela Lofton Allen; and, be it further
35	38		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
36	39		her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
37	40		Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
38	41		memory of Kathy Lofton Allen.
