2- WHEREAS, Residents from Collin County are gathering in
3- Austin on April 1 and 2, 2025, to celebrate Collin County Days at
4- the State Capitol; and
5- WHEREAS, A thriving area in the heart of North Texas,
6- Collin County is one of the largest and fastest-growing counties
7- in the state, and it is now home to approximately 1.3 million
8- residents; and
9- WHEREAS, Plano is the county's largest city and the
10- location of several Fortune 1000 companies; McKinney, the county
11- seat, along with the towns and cities of Allen, Anna, Blue Ridge,
12- Celina, Copeville, Fairview, Farmersville, Frisco, Josephine,
13- Lavon, Lowry Crossing, Lucas, Melissa, Murphy, Nevada, New Hope,
14- Parker, Princeton, Prosper, Richardson, Royse City, Sachse,
15- Saint Paul, Van Alstyne, Weston, and Wylie make up the rest of the
16- county and together are recognized for their charming blend of
17- country and cosmopolitan qualities; and
18- WHEREAS, Collin County's economy remains strong and
19- vibrant thanks to highly skilled workers who make the county a
20- leader in job growth; more than 90 percent of its workforce over
21- the age of 25 hold a high school diploma and about half have
22- earned a bachelor's degree or higher; the county also boasts an
23- excellent public education system, with a number of its campuses
24- ranking among the best in the state; and

30- the Plano, McKinney, Frisco, and Allen Fairview Chambers of
31- Commerce; the members of each association work tirelessly to
32- improve and strengthen economic development and to enhance the
33- quality of life in Collin County communities; and
34- WHEREAS, The citizens of this notable North Texas county
35- are working to preserve the best of their past even as they look
36- forward to a bright and promising future, and they are sure to
37- figure prominently in the growth and prosperity of the Lone Star
38- State in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
39- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
40- Legislature, hereby recognize April 1 and 2, 2025, as Collin
41- County Days at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the
42- visiting delegation.
