| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Poka Lambro Telephone Cooperative is celebrating |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1950, Poka Lambro provides reliable |

| 11 | 11 | | telephone service and high-speed internet to rural communities in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | West Texas; the company's service area spans 4,200 square miles |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | from south of Lubbock in the lower Panhandle to north of Midland in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Permian Basin; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, One of the leading telecommunications companies in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the Southwest, Poka Lambro delivers products and services to a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | number of businesses in the agriculture and petroleum industries; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in addition, the company makes a positive impact through its |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Community Giving Initiative, which provides financial support to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | local nonprofits, and it awards scholarships to high school |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | seniors; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, For three quarters of a century, Poka Lambro has |

| 23 | 23 | | contributed to the economic prosperity of the West Texas area and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | beyond, and the foundation of good corporate citizenship on which |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | it is built will help to ensure its existence well into the future; |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |

| 28 | 28 | | hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of Poka Lambro Telephone |
