58 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
6- memories of Crystal Jeanette Goforth of Levelland, who
7- tragically passed away on October 13, 2022, at the age of 38; and
8- WHEREAS, The former Crystal Garrett was born in Little
9- Rock, Arkansas, on December 23, 1983, to Audrey and Bobby
10- Garrett; she grew up with a brother, Stephen, and two sisters,
11- Tasha and Rebecca; and
9+ memories of Crystal Jeanette Goforth of Levelland, who tragically
10+ passed away on October 13, 2022, at the age of 38; and
11+ WHEREAS, The former Crystal Garrett was born in Little Rock,
12+ Arkansas, on December 23, 1983, to Audrey and Bobby Garrett; she
13+ grew up with a brother, Stephen, and two sisters, Tasha and Rebecca;
14+ and
1215 WHEREAS, Mrs. Goforth embarked on a rewarding career as an
1316 animal control officer with the Levelland Police Department; she
1417 ultimately was promoted to the position of senior animal control
1518 officer, and over the course of her tenure, she distinguished
16- herself in her responsibilities of investigating animal cruelty
17- and neglect, saving animals, helping to find them homes, and
18- addressing a range of other animal-related concerns; moreover,
19- she was actively engaged in providing community support and
20- outreach, and she earned a reputation for always going above and
21- beyond in her duties; she and her partner, Jon Corder, were
22- responding to a call on October 13, 2022, when their work truck
23- was struck by another vehicle; Mrs. Goforth and Mr. Corder died
24- from the injuries they sustained in the collision, and their
25- dedicated service has continued to inspire an outpouring of
26- prayers and sympathy from the community; and

31- WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Crystal
32- Goforth will remember the way she touched their lives with her
33- love of animals and her compassionate and joyful nature, and she
34- will always hold a treasured place in their hearts; now,
35- therefore, be it
36- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
37- Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Crystal Jeanette
38- Goforth and extend deepest condolences to the members of her
39- family: to her husband, Joshua Goforth; to her son, Noah
40- Goforth; to her parents, Audrey and Bobby Garrett; to her
41- siblings, Stephen Garrett, Tasha Ivie, and Rebecca Taylor; to her
42- father-in-law, David Goforth; to her mother-in-law, Michelle
43- Goforth; to her brother-in-law, Lucas Goforth; and to her many
44- other relatives and friends; and, be it further
34+ WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Crystal Goforth

36+ animals and her compassionate and joyful nature, and she will
37+ always hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
38+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
