2	8		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	9		recognize Dr. Neal Weaver on his exceptional career and his
4	10		distinguished service as president of Stephen F. Austin State
5	11		University; and
6		-	WHEREAS, Dr. Weaver has dedicated more than three decades to
7		-	university leadership; he previously served as president of

13	19		WHEREAS, Dr. Weaver has demonstrated remarkable diligence
14	20		and dedication in prioritizing university goals, strategically
15		-	allocating resources, and fostering a culture of empowerment, and
16		-	his efforts have led to record-breaking student enrollment and
17		-	alumni and donor support at the institutions where he served; and

22	29		university funding directly benefiting students, faculty, and
23	30		campus infrastructure; his prudent financial leadership has been
24		-	vital in facilitating the establishment of scholarships, endowing
25		-	professorships and chairs, and advancing capital improvement
26		-	efforts as well as innovative programs designed to enhance student
27		-	success and promote institutional excellence; and
28		-	WHEREAS, Dr. Weaver is highly regarded for his expertise in
29		-	organizational leadership, and he was instrumental in launching
30		-	the President Jimmy Carter Leadership Development Program; he has
31		-	taught courses in management, leadership development, and
32		-	organizational behavior, and he has been honored as a Stellar
33		-	Speaker at Council for Advancement and Support of Education
34		-	conferences and summer institutes and gives generously of his time
35		-	and talents as an instructor and volunteer for Youth Leadership
36		-	Oklahoma; and

37	45		WHEREAS, Dr. Weaver holds a doctoral degree from the

39	47		Oklahoma State University, and he earned his bachelor's degree in
40	48		speech communication from Oklahoma Panhandle State University;
41	49		he sets an admirable example through his devotion to his family
42	50		and his community engagement at Stephen F. Austin State
43	51		University, and he is supported in all things through the love
44	52		and encouragement of his wife, Kristi, and their three sons, two
45	53		daughters-in-law, and granddaughter; his superior leadership and
46	54		unwavering commitment to higher education in the Lone Star State
47	55		has been an invaluable asset, and he is truly deserving of
48	56		special recognition for his service; now, therefore, be it
49	57		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
50	58		Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Neal Weaver on his outstanding
51	59		contributions to advancing the mission of Stephen F. Austin State
52	60		University and extend to him best wishes for the university's
53	61		ongoing success; and, be it further
54	62		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
55	63		him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
